Foxglove, as the other poster said. Latin name Digitalis. The ones around here(Vancouver Island) are in bloom right now. I can see one from this desk. That one you show looks like a wild one, the wild ones being anywhere from almost white through pink to deep mauve like the one in your photo. They also come in cultivated varieties in a large choice of forms and colours

Found this Beautiful flower while out for a hike on my lunch hour.
It was approx 5 1/2 feet tall and there weren't any others around it. It was standing alone in a field.
The spotting on the inside of the bells is quite unique.
Any help on figuring out just what this guy is would be appreciated,
