Never believe an inspector who says everything is ok.
However, the Wifi is NOT something the home inspector would be concerned about, and the air conditioning problem would easily be outside the range of what a home inspector would check.
Is mold potentially a problem? Perhaps. It can develop rather quickly. Or it might be something else. Home inspectors are NOT Air Quality Inspectors, they can't and don't give advice on that.
As for where your smell could come from, it could be the AC, it could be moisture, it could be drywall, or something else.
Yeah I think it's mold. If there's a dank smell, there's water coming from somewhere. Hire a mold remediation expert to inspect your home. Especially your brother's room and where ever that "dank" smell is coming from.
We bought a house in March 2014. The house was built in 2007. After the inspection, they said everything was working fine and the home inspector gave an ok on everything. However, after moving in there have been so many problems. The wifi drops continuously, the upstairs air conditioner randomly stopped working a day ago, and now I'm smelling something odd. It's like a danky smell. My little brother is sneezing all the time. Is there a possibility of mold?? I mean there are no leaks and it isn't a very old house but the smell and his sneezing are alarming. The inspector said there was no mold though and that was in March. Could mold have grown in the couple months that we've been here? (My little brother has allergy problems all the time so it could be a coincidence). Also, like I said...there are no leaks, moisture, or anything. So could the smell just be from trash or something idk? And how do I get rid of it!!
