White rustoleum is really great for the job you describe. You may need to use several coats. It works even better if you do a light sanding between coats.

We currently have dark cherry knotty alder cabinets and are installing dark wood floors so we want to paint our cabinets bright white. What is the best paint for this? I've heard of rustoleum but have also heard that it isn't the best for dark to white transitions. I've also heard of ace cabinets trim and door but not enough to make a decision. Any suggestions??
