JC's answer is good for one that is acting strange.
Johns answer could get you into trouble. Many areas have strict laws concerning relocating wildlife even when they become a threat/nuisance.
In our area you can move wildlife less than 1/2 kilometer (about 500 yards (1500 feet)) from where you caught it unless you have a special license.
Check your local bylaws concerning wildlife. In Ontario, you are allowed to humanely dispose of wildlife that is destroying your property.
Catch the raccoon in a Raccoon trap (Hav-A-Hart makes various sizes of live traps).
Get a large enough container that you can fill with water so it completely covers the whole trap more than 1 1/2 inches above the trap.
Place some liquid soap in the water to act as a wetting agent. This will drown the raccoon faster.
Place the trap into the water for at least 15 to 30 minutes.
Remove the trap from the water and dispose of the raccoon in your garbage.
Most areas do not appreciate or allow the disposal of dead wildlife in their Green Bins.
Call the animal control or police, say they are acting weird a out during the day (if so they are rabid); they will wrangle and kill
Setup a trap and release it in the wilds.
I have a family of big raccoons going through our complexes garbage cans and we park near them. They are very aggressive.
