The sheets arrive rolled up in a 4' tube looking like a giant toilet roll middle
It is called laminate.
'Formica' is one of the big brand names.
You cam also get MDF / Chipboard already surfaced with laminate.
'Conti Board' is one of the common makes of that, though there are many others.
If you want 'real wood' appearance, look at veneered plywood - you can get it in various sizes and thicknesses, with eg. mahogany or walnut veneer on one side.

Wickes have this type of thing and will cut it to size for you .
Hi, I know that the manufactured board MDF doesn't look that attractive, and was wondering if there was any type of sheet which I can glue on to it, which would have the image of a nice wood style on it. After doing some research, I found out this was called laminting, and was wondering where in the UK I could buy this from. I know i'd be able to get the glue (Contact cement) from B&Q, but don't know where id be able to get the laminated sheets from? Also, are they even called laminated sheets????
