If you like crisp sheets, get "percale"; if you like soft sheets, get "sateen". All cotton sheets will wrinkle unless they have been treated with a "wrinkle-free" process. Polyester sheets can be hot. Linen sheets are the coolest, but they are expensive and also wrinkle. "Cotton rich" or "cotton blend" are usually a mixture of cotton and polyester. As long as the percentage of polyester is not more than 30%-40%, they are not too bad--- and they don't wrinkle. However, I prefer all-cotton sheets. There are also "knit" (jersey) sheets, which are very soft; it's like sleeping on a t-shirt. There are also silk sheets, and rayon sheets, but they are not very practical.
Anything with a true thread count of 300 and above should be very nice.
I found very fine sheets from sale at JC Penny, anywhere from 250 to 1000 thread count. They sometimes sell them at special prices,. Often these sales take place in springtime.
Bed. Bath & Beyond has a wide selection of sheets including 1,000 thread count sheets.

look for those with a minimum 250 thread counts
A little background: I have been using the same sheets for several years now. My parents first bought them in Thailand on vacation and they're the softest most comfortable sheets I have found to this day. Seriously, they're so comfortable, they just make you wanna curl up and lie there for hours and then you notice you have but you don't care 'cause that's how soft and nice they are.
Last week, however, they've started to rip and tear apart. After around 6 years of daily use, they've finally begun to deteriorate. The tag sports the brand "Sovereign" and according to my mom who bought them they were "over 1000 thread count" and quite cheap. They're light blue with this planet pattern on them. (I've attached photos.) If anyone knows where I can find replacements, I would really appreciate it. I've searched around a bit and can't seem to find anything.
If not, then I would appreciate suggestions on where I can find sheets just as quality and soft. I understand thread counts isn't tell all so it doesn't have to be over 1000 or anything as long as they're good sheets. I am willing to spend a bit of money but nothing outrageous.
Any input is appreciated. Thanks!
