I've been really happy with Angie's List. I've used half a dozen various contractors that I found through them in the past 2 years and all were excellent -- fair prices, on time scheduling and excellent work. I had my basement waterproofed, glass block windows installed, gutters cleaned and repaired, some dead trees taken down, a large retaining wall and parking pad constructed and concrete steps installed and all of the jobs were done very well and I was satisfied with them. It does not cost that much to join Angies List and I'm sure it saved me hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars and lots of aggravation.

You might find some posted on internet. The best method is the oldest: ask around, ask contractors for previous project locations and go talk to the owners.
