Might want to ask mom and/or relatives if they have anything they no longer have a use for if you could have it because you are redecorating your room and only have a few bucks. I you think you can't use what ever they offer then simply say no thank you, but I appreciate the offer. You might want think outside the box. That means not everything has to match. It's whatever you want. After all it's your room. One person may have a rug, in good shape that they are no longer using. Even mom may have the same. If there is a small garbage container for a bathroom that no one wants, you can use it for purses or other small items. Can also use for stuffed animals if you have them. Will bring a little color into the room. Might want to ask mom to take you to a few rummage sales and/or 2nd hand stores, if she has the time. Don't be afraid to ask for a little help from anyone willing to help you. Even your friends might have something they are willing to give to you. Jewelry can be hung on the wall along with things you might use for your hair. Can also hang a jacket on the wall, both for decoration and of course to use when needed. Might want to make a list of things, something liked a wish list and talk to mom about it. If nothing else she might start to think of things that you can use that are right their, around the house. No need to rush so make the list which also may give you a few ideas you haven't thought about before. Like looking for things at rummage sales ... can give you some ideas. It's all about what you like for the cheapest you can find.
Eagles Fly has a lot of great ideas. To them, I would add the following:
If you are going to be painting and are having a problem figuring out what colors to use, www.colorcombos.com is a good resource for color combinations.
If you fall in love with a wall color, it's good to have a color card or paint chip with you when you go shopping for the rest of the things you need. That way, you can check to make sure those things with match or go with the room color before you you purchase them.
Target for colorful bedding options and relatively inexpensive posters, art prints and photo reproductions. Mudhut and Boho Boutique brands for bedding are trendy and colorful and a lot of the comforters are reversible (which is like getting two for one when you think about it).
IKEA is good for small storage and colorful decor pieces.
If you want to redecorate your room then you should try few things such as repaint your room, get new posters and more. If you are planning to replace your old windows and doors then you should try the services of NorthView Windows and Doors Inc. I am also using their services.
Try Kirkland's, especially their clearances.
I'm redecorating my bedroom and I'm 13 years old with a small budget. Thanks for any advice:-)
