I've picked them up on my clothes moving old furniture, threw my clothes on my bed and then spent 3 months getting rid of the suckers. They have to walk , they can't fly or jump.
I think they come into the country with people who think its NORMAL to live with bed bugs.
I also know that 'new in country' people do not report them to the health board because they have no idea its not normal to live WITH bugs.
I also think that new-in-country janitors for public buildings are probably the number one way they are spreading.
One woman who was a new in country (Punjab woman) was told she should have reported the bugs in her apartment. She said "Why? Its normal to have some bugs in their apartment."
The landlord said "NO. It's not normal to have bugs in your apartment."
And the lady replied " It is where I come from."(I HEARD HER MYSELF)
There ya go.
Once someone you share an apartment house with, or share a BUS with or train, or anything with, and you catch em... its not your fault and it doesnt matter how clean you are. You cant stop it. Then, people are embarrassed ( because they are decent people) and so they dont report it and dont tell anyone because some jerk will label them as filthy.
Aside from these problems, landlords are not jumping on the problem like they should. People need to be told they are harder to get rid of than fleas. Fleas used to be the hardest, aside from cockroaches.
Also, its been proven they can live for six months without feeding ( at least, so far) and longer if they hibernate in cold walls and then come out again when the weather warms up.
So they are very , very resilient.
They live in clothing and bedding; they don't originate there. Since they live on blood, they're associated with people. Fleas don't come from grass; they live on animals.
Well i don't know about all of that. my house is sparkling like the board of health and i bathe twice a day so i don't think its uncleanliness.
From someone who is nasty. Someone who doesn't shower or clean themselves!
All of these other sites just keep saying they come from used furniture, clothes , etc. but i figured since it was a bug, they're origin would be outside. for example flees come from the grass. they don't just sprout out of the fu*@n air!
