The "scratch and dent" or close out department of furniture stores often have good values. Personally I prefer used furniture from private owners like on Craigslist or at estate sales.
The Rent a Center furniture is crap -- cheaply made stuff that doesn't hold up well. That is the WORST place to get furnishings, all disposable.
Ordering furniture on line is a waste of money because the delivery costs are so high. If they offer "free delivery" you can bet they are rolling the cost into the actual price anyway. Shop locally, and try used furniture stores or small family run businesses rather than big box stores. Places like Value City also sell junk, poorly made items that will not hold up more than a few years.
Well built furniture comes from stores like Pottery Barn, Arhaus, Thomasville, Ethan Allen and Henredon. You will pay quite a bit more than for cheap junk but the items will last.

I would say go to either Jennifer Convertibles or Value City furniture.

Check craigslist, many are selling furniture there because of moving or upgrading, so you can probably negotiate some good deals also.
Bob's furniture if your in the Northeast. Great stuff, great prices.
ebay stores - - usually places like argos have end of line stock (not the latest trendy furniture) cheap and cheerful
try google it also
As far as couches, beds, rugs and things like that. If anyone knows from experience whether it be a website, a walk in store, or an app on your phone. Or maybe even rent a center to rent to own if that is a cheaper method? I need good feedback please
