Not sure if you mean comforter when you mention blanket. However, both the duvet cover and comforter (blanket) should be the same size. The comforter should fit into the duvet perfectly. As far as laying the bed cover, that depends on the size of your bed mattress (length vs width). The longer side of the cover should dress the longer side of the bed mattress. However, you can arrange it any way you like to provide coverage for both you and your husband. Hope this helps.

Put the throw blanket inside the duvet cover, the snaps go along the bottom of your bed.

I have a king size duvet cover and the throw blanket with it from ikea. I have the black and white striped duvet cover with the snaps and I can't figure out which way the blankets go to get the best coverage over the bed. Which way does the throw blanket go? Does the tag go on the bottom right or left? And which way do the snaps on the duvet cover go? On the bottom of the bed or on one of the sides of the bed? I'm so confused. Because the way I have it has me and my husband fighting over the covers at night and we have a king size bed! (And in positive I have the right size blankets)
