It will kill the racoons eventually, but it would take quite a bit to do so. It will kill the mice as well. If they eat it they will die. What is probably happening is that you have way more mice than you think, or new mice are coming in and replacing the dead ones. You need to stop the mice from getting into the garage, if possible.

poisoning is worse than leg hold traps. Not a cool thing dude.

Mouse poison and raccoons different size creatures. Maybe it is a Tomcat in the box?

.Racoons usually wash off their food before eating it so maybe that happened. They washed off the poison.

.Maybe it is time to close in the garage. They have trouble holding keys so that kind of lock is good, so is a simple combination lock.

. Latches they can figure out and once figured out they go for the family safe. That is why they have masks.

I have had great luck with Tomcat for mice, don't know if it is strong enough for raccoons, since they hopefully aren't nesting in your walls that might be why you don't see dead bodies.

I bought two bait stations and a bucket of Tomcat bait chunks. First thing you know racoons were raiding and destroying the bait boxes at night,... and they kept coming back every night for MORE!! Yum! I even put out an entire bucket of bait and they ate most of it, then came back looking for MORE! FInally gave up and put the bait boxes in the garage. That was two years ago and racoons are still coming around looking for that yummy treat!

Now in the garage the bait boxes are emptied repeatedly and never any bodies. What's going on????
