Will a candle set off the fire alarm?

not usually, but a candle could set off a fire alarm if it is too close to the alarm or if it smokes a lot

It shouldn't. You would know if your alarm is sensitive because it would have gone off before from things like cooking or even taking a shower (the steam used to cause it in my place). So if it's not sensitive to those things, a candle should be no issue.

I agree with Laurie.

So I have an upstairs bedroom with a fire alarm system set up throughout the house. I'm just wondering if lighting a candle will set it off. I really hope this isn't an entirely stupid question, being that there are fire alarms in the kitchen and yet you can have a stove on and candies lit easily downstairs. I'm just not sure if maybe the system isn't set up the same in bedrooms.

So basically I'm just wondering if it should be alright to light a candle upstairs in a bedroom or will it set off the alarm.
