I have a debate at school. I know sperrys are preppy but could I wear my washed red ones to my debate? It's not very formal but we just have to dress nice.

I'm pretty sure you know sperry's aren't formal. If the debate is formal, you need to wear at least a blouse, long black flare dress pants that drag on the floor and tall black pumps with high heels. Or a skirt, blouse, pantyhose and pumps. It won't hurt you to dress up for a day. Good luck.
