I think you should buy new leggings that are thicker and not so see through because like, forreal, no one wants to see that.

Yes you can. Most likely the combo will look ok. However it may feel weird. The only way to find out is to try them on.
Wouldnt look weird. But you would need to judge yourself as to whether or not it covers you the way you want it to. Will you get too hot with both layers on? Should you wear a skirt or a longer top over in case? Maybe ask an opinion of a trusted friend before venturing out in public?
