Everything eventually wears down. But, no. These last a very long time. My puppy chewed mine in a spot and it has NOT ripped at all. I use them for running and for yoga and everyday wear... They are just high quality. They last longer than cheaper brands. Def a great investment.

From personal experience, I would say they stretch only to fit your skin otherwise they do not.
