I would wear a stylish scoop neck with high waisted shorts - these are things that compliment your figure. A top like this - - would be greats with these kind shorts - - Along with colorful pumps or flats, and some matching colored accessories like a bow/chunky bracelet. I have no idea what you hair looks like so I cant give much advise there, but a soft natural look can be great instead of trying to hard and going overboard.

Well I suppose it depends on what type of Gathering it is, I'd say if it was like a family reunion or just a get together type thing then maybe a pair of nice dark wash skinny jeans, black or White skinny jeans or a Maxi(or short) Skirt or dress and a cute sorta dressy top to match and sandals or wedges. If it's like a Barbecue or Birthday Part then Like a sundress or White Or Any wash Skinny jeans rolled at the cuff with Sandals or flat tennis shoes of some sort and a cute top. Or something like these
