I think you should most definitely stick with the starters because your gonna have to clean your ears and your earring and have a pretty simple healing process. Starters are special and they have a shaper tip than most earrings so if they fall out your ear you can push them back in more easily...

the starter they give you when they pierce it will have to stay in for six months or you risk getting it infected. its definitely safer to stick with them. though you can always ask the person piercing your ear if they have suggestions
