I have 9ct Yellow Gold Quarter Carat Diamond Ring which is my engagement ring I took it too a local jeweller to be resized and polished. Once I got back home I noticed the cluster holding all the diamonds is now Silver? Even with it been yellow gold, it shouldn't change to silver? I have had the ring 6years now and have had one diamond replaced about 5years ago with a store called h.samuel in uk and I know the jeweller well so is it poss bike that the h.samuel store could have changed my ring? As I was thinking it could have been gold platted and when it was polished it's came off?

The ring could not be made of gold - gold does not tarnish nor does it ever need to be cleaned - even bugs cannot live upon it's surface - they die.
