My mom gave me one of her old swimsuits, and its really cute. i don't know how though, but the back had some oil stains, and they were old, so i put some Oxi clean and rubbed a lot of it onto the suit where the stains were and let it set in for a few minutes, but when i went to wash it out, it thinned out where the stains were and there are three big saggy spots on the suit now. how do i fix this? is there a way? Could i take it to a tailor to have it remade? My mom gave me one of her old swimsuits, and its really cute. i don't know how though, but the back had some oil stains, and they were old, so i put some Oxi clean and rubbed a lot of it onto the suit where the stains were and let it set in for a few minutes, but when i went to wash it out, it thinned out where the stains were and there are three big saggy spots on the suit now. how do i fix this? is there a way? Nope - bathing suit material has tiny threads of spandex shot through it, which deteriorate after about a year. When you put something on it, you washed them out- but the rest of the fabric was probably just about to do that when you wore it anyway. If you look online, you may find a similar suit. There are lot of copies of older suits being sold these days - so ask her how to describe it, and start looking around. My guess is that you'll find one that's new, and very similar. There's nothing a tailor is going to be able to do, because all of the fabric is just done. Wish I wa wrong - I don't go swimming very often, and I end up with this happening a lot!
