Ion plated means that the gold will not flake off, but it also means that your smart phone has more gold in it than the finish on your watch. It will rub off it you wear the watch daily. I never herd of gold pvt.
Gold plates is better then gold painted! however, pvd is the thinnest way to plate gold and it's extremly thin. After a while of wearing the watch it will most likley develope small spots or streaks, revealing stainless steel. Becuase it's aramni it's def. good quality, and it will hold up for a while. But $200.00 is to much for any PVD jewlrey. I payed $30.00 for a PVD watch once.

A popular fixture of home shopping channels, PVD gold is an item covered with a gold coating. PVD stands for "physical vapor deposition", a reference to the process used to make it. It is found on many different jewelry items, especially watches. The process results in a very thin gold plating, thinner than what other methods of plating produce.
