Why not try some living things, or at least record cover art instead of dwelling on people who killed themselves? Your shoes could be really cool, and easier to look at. I'm not certain dirty shoes are a proper memorial to anyone. Check out Peter Max's artwork for posters and album covers - Or Pink Floyd album covers: Or Led Zeppelin: There's some great artwork that would lend itself to being adapted for your shoes. I wish everyone would leave Curt Cobain where he belongs. He self destructed for a reason.
