When I was 16, I mainly wore boxers, but was gradually changing to boxer-briefs. Now, I mainly have boxer-briefs, with the odd pair of boxers in my drawer, as well as a couple of pairs of briefs, which I find to be very comfortable indeed.
I usually wear briefs or boxer briefs. Almost never wear boxers, they're not underwear and they suck anyway. I wear briefs, yea even tighty whities, when I'm wearing my super skinny jeans or boxer briefs with looser pants or shorts.
Briefs are the most comfortable. Boxers are a stupid fad that's fortunately going out of fashion.
A noraml VIP frenchi brief or any equivalent of that style having medium back coverage, elastic sittng on waist and crotch coverage just enough. That is what my choice. I found same style but ladies underware of BODYCARE make.
whatever you feel comfortable with... some people like tighty whiteys, some like looser boxers... and honestly women could not even give a **** by the time they are willing see the underwear.
