Chuck Taylor's high top or low cut both look great. I always go black and white but you can pick whatever color you want
i would say nikes air max. try the shop 5 pointz, they are a bit expensive but really nice shoes
As far as tennis shoes go, or everyday sport wear, the canvas deck shoe. A brown leather slip on deck style shoe, or moc for casual wear. For dressing up, a leather boot, and formal, a leather black tie oxford. I'm not a real fan of the assortment of tennis shoes out there. I personally think they are too hot, and heavy to wear.
