No red color in tie with this shirt. No navy blue either. Tie in grey, pink or light purple may be fine. This one I liked most:
Arrrgh... obviously not a lot of shoppers here... That link is for the shirt AND the tie. The BRAND is Nautica. The blue and green combo is pretty good. You might check these out too:
Is nautical a pattern or just a description of the color? If the shirt is patterned, stick with a solid color tie. Even a very muted pattern might clash with the nautical theme of the shirt. Mixing colors is tricky, especially if the mixing is occurring on just one half of the body. Because the shirt is lightly colored, I would suggest going with a darker colored tie for some contrast. You could do a maroon, for instance. A navy would look nice. My favorite idea would be a dark eggplant - one bordering on black. I think that would look reserved enough to be appropriate yet it wouldn't be too predictable.
If you want to just look sharp go with maybe a grey, black, or white tie. They literally match everything. You could also go with a dark blue, a striped tie, anything really, if you have just a plain shirt, you can wear patterned ties. But if your shirt is patterned (striped, plaid) stick with a solid tie.
I would say a black or blue tie would look very nice or maybe even pladid.now what kind of pants are you wearing? Here's more help try this
